LET US ACT TOGETHER ON CLIMATE CHANGE TO PROTECT AND EMPOWER THE MOST VULNERABLE
Climate change is multiplying risks for displaced populations around the world. With the Philippines being prone to typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural disasters, around 150,000 forcibly displaced individuals in Mindanao are dealing with some of the most severe effects of the climate emergency – on top of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and imminent fears from recurring conflict.
Disaster preparedness, access to resources, and opportunities to rebuild sustainable livelihoods can protect the most vulnerable in this critical time. Together, we can anticipate risk and work with local communities to increase their resilience to adapt. We can help strengthen preparedness and response, support environmental solutions, and empower displaced families and their host communities to mitigate the impact of climate change.
Climate change is not for the distant future; it is our present and reality.
Let us ensure that the planet we live in is a safe place for everyone, including those who are forced to flee.
Act now. Together.
